Mothman Ascension is an augmented shadow experience where you turn your room into a small theater of light, silhouettes, and mystery. With a simple projector, a cardboard pumpkin, and a cardboard pupa you craft yourself, you uncover the true identity of Mothman through guided scenes, readings, and live-triggered effects.
You control the ritual: read the short stories, advance the scenes, and switch animations with your keyboard while the 3D shadow mapping brings Mothman to life. The final eight-minute sequence reveals his purpose as a messenger between worlds.
Designed for ages 10+, and ideal to share with friends or family, the experience blends storytelling, projection mapping, and shadow play into a warm, strange, and unforgettable night event.
No special hardware required—any projector works.

Download and open the game file (
.dmgor.zip) on your Mac. -
Set up your scene: You’ll need 1 pumpkin and 1 pupa. Use the in-app Craft section to create and calibrate these models. White surfaces work best.

Connect a projector (any LED projector from $50+ will work). Full darkness improves the shadow-mapping effect.

Calibrate: Follow the on-screen guide to align the four corner points of each model. The pumpkin calibrates the background; the pupa comes next.

Start the show: Use the keyboard to trigger background animations while reading the stories, then proceed to the main 3D shadow ritual of Mothman.

Enjoy the experience: This is designed for ages 10+ and to be shared with friends and family.
